If the parents have a lot of money, either they inherited it or they have college educations, themselves. I imagine that if the latter is true, she is taking only a year off to pioneer and then attend college the next year. I could not have gone straight to college after high school without a year to rest my mind. Sounds as if she was hitting the books awfully hard and probably needs a break. It's a common thing to do.

JW at my sons school tonight
by Champion inmy son goes to a very competitive and expensive private school in ct. there are two jw families that also go there.
so tonight he had a choir performance.
one of the jws is also in choir.

Another point to mention is that her husband is an elder and the service overseer. He didn't seem controlling when I met him, kind of disinterested in her, actually. He's an abandoning husband to her so she's on her own much of the time in activities outside the congregation.
I don't want to wreck my fade, so I'm thinking of just letting it go. I don't want to show up at her house to check on her and make the JW's interested in me, again. But I do care about her. Hmmm...

Anyone remember "Jehovahs Christian Witnesses" in Portland OR?

she was worldly but being a good witness that i was i picked up the yellow pages to find the location of the local kingdom hall.
well, i found it but i also found a listing for "jehovah's christian witnesses".

Well, a bunch of people from that area, Portland, OR, broke off and became apostate, making literature and having WT studies with each other. It may have been those ones that picketed in Tacoma. It was shocking news that was whispered a lot.

What if you were baptized into the born again faiths? I was so does that mean that I'm a separated sister in the Catholic church? My name's not on a list but I visited once. Do they recognize other faiths' baptisms as long as it is in those three names?

Do do not call lists really work? I always told people that if they didn't want to be contacted anymore, to add their name to our list. I never saw such a list and always got people who already did that. I don't think they work. I'd offer them a copy of the Wiccan Rede if they want me to take their stuff. Mine is better, anyway.

She's not like that. She is the strangest JW I've ever met. Very liberal and kind to everyone. She's a pioneer, too, and works full time. It's really strange.

I am totally Deaf and don't bother using the phone. We communicated just fine over e-mail. People who know me know I use e-mail instead of the phone.
I'm also a single mom of 3 that can't afford embossed invitations. She informed me in person to come to her son's graduation. We went. I invited her in person and over e-mail to come. She was thrilled and accepted. She didn't show.

Was everyone really vegeterian pre-flood?
by blkblk13 inok it's late and im bored and this might ramble a bit but i got to thinking, the wbts always proposes that everyone, b/f god gave noah permission to eat meat, was vegeterian.
witnesses always talk about how in the new system we will all go back to being vegeterian since i think in isaiah it says the the lion or wolf will graze and eat grass like the lamb or something and it was never gods plan for us to eat meat.. this doesn't sound right to me.
why would god make animals begin to eat each other if it was not according to his plan?

That is interesting. I never thought about the eyes facing forward to be predatory. Yes, what about our eye teeth (fangs)? I don't use them to eat salad. Are we really meant to be omnivors?

I don't know what to make of this. My friend from the hall asked me for an invitation to my graduation. I e-mailed her a note that she is most welcomed and doesn't need a ticket to get in. I didn't buy any announcements or invitations. I e-mailed everyone who was invited to that and the simple party at our favorite watering hole.
She didn't answer the e-mail nor did she show up. No contact since. I've e-mailed her three times afterward asking if she is OK. A couple of days between e-mails elapsed. I'm still waiting for a reply. She knew when it was so I do expect she is in town.
I haven't been to the hall since '05 so I'm wondering if any announcement has been made about me. I don't try to hide what I do that would get me df'd but I've never been caught. Nothing. I don't know what to make of it.
Any ideas?
